动画根据英国美食记者迈克尔·布斯（Michael Booth）所著《不止寿司——日本人所理解的厨艺之道》（Sushi and Beyond:What the Japanese Know About Cooking）改编，講述在日本逗留了100天的一家英國人從北海道吃到沖繩的美食遊記。。In the tenth series, in the second episode ("The Son'll Come Out") Michael comes out as gay to his parents, first to his father after coming home drunk then later to his mother. He then tells them that he has been in a relationship with a guy for some time, a 25 year old solicitor called Scott Marsh, who later moves into the Harper residence, though he is later seen in gay club...。
