一对爱恋的男女，因时局的动荡而不能在一起。于是女主人公就把一首唐代伟大诗人白居易的《长恨歌》：“在天愿作比翼鸟，在地愿为连理枝。天长地久有时尽，此恨绵绵无绝期。”写在一幅象征“荣华富贵”的牡丹图上一起给了自己心爱的恋人，但他们的爱情故事犹如诗中所描述。“爱到极致便是恨”。时过境迁，“牡丹图”在一次事件中下落不明。多年过去。已是暮年的男主人公带着仅存的记忆和遗憾，跨越时间与空间寻找这幅带着思念与爱的“牡丹图”。然而，人性的贪婪，为他的寻找之旅设下多重关卡…。《欢乐再满屋 Fuller House》沿用原劇設定，這次角色放在成了獸醫，住在舊金山的D.J.
