电影讲述了大一女生叶璃和超自然研究社团的成员们一起拍摄恐怖灵异视频后发生的故事。为了恐怖视频的点击率，社团团长决定在七月半中元节的晚上，去传说中最恐怖的废弃清代古宅探险，并在那里，用“见鬼十法”来召唤那些游荡在幽冥黄泉中的厉鬼……事实上，早在他们踏进古宅那一刻，死亡的阴影如同跗骨之蛆，悄然降临。。Steven Parnell, who was accused of murdering a number young girls the previous summer, is killed while in prison awaiting trial. Morse had not been involved in the case as he was on leave during most of that investigation.
