大明王朝洪武十五年的重阳节，朱元璋携妻率队重游皇觉寺，当他看到巍峨壮丽的皇觉寺甚感欣喜，回忆起了当初从皇觉寺起家的种种艰辛历程：在濠州皇觉寺里，朱元璋是一个挑水做粗活的小和尚。寺庙佛性大师见他聪明伶俐，但人在佛前，却没有禅心，于是教他熟读史书。由于连连征战，灾荒频频，寺庙没有足够的粥供给众僧了，朱元璋只好云游四方，开始了长达四年的讨饭生活。他几次饿昏倒地，被人救起。尽管食不裹腹，却暗察时态变迁；在元朝统治风雨飘摇之时，他断定这是乱世出英雄的大好机遇，于是投身郭子兴红巾军，做了郭子兴亲兵……。东汉末年，曹操位居丞相，一人之下，万人之上，挟天子以令诸侯，平袁术、灭袁绍，东征西讨，意图统一天下。无奈事与愿违，赤壁之战曹军溃败。事隔多年，曹操受封魏王，刘备自立汉中王，孙权亦在东吴称王，三国鼎立，混战不休。。Great unknown Mexican movie from the Seventies.
