1980年代初，上海某造船厂锻压车间有一群已到结婚年龄但仍无女朋友的光棍汉，他们在班长石奇龙（刘信义）的带领下，有时会聚餐发泄一下当工人的种种不好——钱少、地位低、无女孩瞧得上之类，并做出一些痞气的行为，但总体来讲，他们是快乐的。性情温良的刘铁（马晓伟）虽生活在他们中间，但多少显得有些不合群，一因他的文化程度相比较高，有了空闲时间就会读书、写有关技术改进的文章，二因他自称是坚定的单身主义者。 厂办夜校来了位美丽的名叫丁玉洁（龚雪）的女教师，光棍汉一时看傻了眼，可是一听她要抓他们去读书学习，每个人都想逃开，但在车间主任秦德昌（战车）的“逼压”下，他们还是来到了课堂，而课堂上的一场矛盾、车间里的一次工作失误过后，他们也意识到知识的重要，开始认真上课，其中前后对比最强烈的，当属石奇龙。期间，刘铁的表现又是不合群：知晓丁玉洁来到厂里后，他常常有意将她避开。 ...。SYNOPSIS Urgently called, the police inspector has arrived in a hotel, and didn't find any crime, but noticed some strangenesses occurring there. (Strugatsky Brothers website) NOTES This is a crime / mystery thriller with surreal and psychedelic science fiction overtones based on a book Inspector Glebsky's Puzzle by the Strugatsky brothers. The screenplay was also written by the brothers and it differs from the book. The less you know about the movie the better starting point you have.
