湖北随州叶家山西周墓地被评为“2011年度全国十大考古新发现”。叶家山墓地位于随州市淅河镇蒋寨村，2010年12月村民进行农田施工时发现大批青铜器。湖北省文物局和湖北省文物考古所专家经过初步勘探，确定为西周早期诸侯国曾国的墓葬群，距今3000多年，墓群面积约4万平方米。。Over the centuries only few caravans dared to cross the northern route of the silk road that today lies in the territory of Kazakhstan.
